The company aimed to create a website that would enhance its credibility, enabling the investment team to source new deals effectively. The website would help ensure a strong deal flow and avoid excess dry powder. It needed to prominently showcase their portfolio of companies to attract potential opportunities.
Research was conducted on private equity investment firms, such as Vista Equity Partners and Thoma Bravo. The aim was to gain a comprehensive understanding of their information architecture, user flow, and the types of content that resonate most effectively with the target audience.

Responsive Design
Designed in Figma, incorporating both mobile and desktop layouts to ensure a seamless user experience across devices.

Built in WordPress and designed to be responsive across all viewports, including desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
The website was initially developed by a WordPress developer using the Elementor page builder. To implement necessary changes, I needed to familiarize myself with Elementor’s features and functionality. The portfolio page displayed the portfolio companies through an API that pulled in logos and company information; however, this approach proved too complex for a small company.
One of the most challenging aspects of developing private equity websites is navigating the rules and regulations imposed by the industry. Adhering to the standards set by the SEC is crucial, and I made it a priority to ensure compliance throughout the project.
This project provided me with the opportunity to deepen my familiarity with the WordPress platform. While I had previous experience building WordPress websites, I had not worked with the Elementor page builder before. This experience enhanced my understanding of designing user interfaces in Figma, taking into account the limitations of page builders.
Adhering to SEC regulations was a significant learning experience for me. I quickly realized the importance of understanding the legal framework governing the private equity industry while working with legal and compliance teams. This knowledge not only helped me navigate the complexities of compliance but also reinforced the critical role that transparency and accountability play in building trust with clients and stakeholders.
